絹と織物の町・八王子で、草木で染めた絹の色を選び、小さな壁掛けをつくる一日です。

この会では、すでにある糸と色に触れながら、小さな布の表情を少しずつ立ち上げていきます。
草木で染めた絹の糸、絹真綿のやわらかさ、木枠の中に生まれる余白や重なりを見つめながら、15〜20cmほどの小さな壁掛けへと仕上げていきます。

少人数で行うため、ひとつひとつの色や素材の違いを、ゆっくりと感じていただけます。
はじめての方にもご参加いただけます。

In Hachioji, a town with a long connection to silk and weaving, this is a day for choosing naturally dyed silk colors and making a small wall hanging.

In this gathering, we work with threads and colors that are already prepared, and slowly bring out the expression of a small piece of cloth. While looking closely at naturally dyed silk threads, the softness of silk mawata, and the quiet spaces and layers that appear within the frame, we shape a small wall hanging of about 15–20 cm.

Because the group is small, you can take time to notice each color and each material at an unhurried pace. Beginners are very welcome.

- A small introduction to Hachioji, silk, and weaving
- Looking at naturally dyed silk threads and silk mawata
- Choosing your color combination
- Preparing the frame for weaving
- Weaving a small wall hanging on the frame
- Bringing the piece together by arranging layers of color and material
- Taking the finished piece home
