玉まゆとは、二頭以上の蚕がひとつの繭をつくったもの。
通常の繭とは形が異なるため、糸を引くと、ところどころに節のある表情豊かな糸が生まれます。

この布は、その希少な玉まゆの糸を使って織った、完成サンプル作品です。
均一すぎない糸の表情と、淡いピンクから紅へと移るぼかし染めが重なり、やさしさの中に華やぎを感じる一枚に仕上がっています。

素材は絹100%。
軽やかでさらりとした肌触りがあり、首元にすっきりとかけたり、和装の際のストールや帯揚げのようにお使いいただくこともできます。

サイズは約38cm × 175cm。
細長い形なので、装いにやわらかな色を添えたいときにも扱いやすい布です。

Tamamayu refers to a cocoon made by two or more silkworms together.
Because of its irregular shape, the silk thread drawn from tamamayu often has small slubs and natural variations, giving the yarn a distinctive texture.

This piece is a completed sample textile woven with this rare tamamayu silk yarn.
The gentle irregularity of the yarn and the gradation from pale pink to beni red create a textile that feels both soft and quietly radiant.

Made from 100% silk, it has a light, smooth, and dry touch.
It can be worn lightly around the neck, or used with Japanese clothing as a stole or in a way similar to an obiage.
