《森と水のあいだ》
幾重にも重ねた緯糸が、森の緑と水の青をつないでいく、絹真綿手紡ぎ糸のからみ織りテキスタイルです。
光に透かすと、深い湖のようにも、木漏れ日の森のようにも見えてきます。

経糸には、何十色もの絹糸を組み合わせ、緯糸には、太さや色の異なる絹真綿手紡ぎ糸を用いました。
数センチごとに色を切り替えながら、即興的に立ち上がるイメージを布に写すように織り進めています。

力織機を使用していますが、真綿糸の性質に合わせて一回一回止めながら織るため、同じ表情は二度と生まれません。

静けさと、絹真綿のやわらかな温もりをまとうような、絵画的な一枚です。

自然の光を含んだような布の表情を、ストールとして、また空間に掛けるテキスタイルとしてお楽しみいただけます。

“Between Forest and Water”
A hand-spun mawata silk leno weave textile, where layers of weft threads connect the green of the forest and the blue of water.
Held up to the light, it may appear like a deep lake, or like a forest touched by sunlight through leaves.

The warp is arranged with many colors of silk yarn.

The weft is woven with hand-spun mawata silk yarns of varied thicknesses and colors, changing every few centimeters as the image emerges during weaving.
Although a power loom is used, the weaving is stopped and adjusted repeatedly to suit the character of the hand-spun mawata yarn.

Because of this process, the same expression can never be recreated.

This is a painterly textile, carrying stillness, light, and the gentle warmth of silk mawata.

The Collector’s Series is a collection of one-of-a-kind works.
This piece may be worn as a stole, or displayed in a living space as a textile work.
